Among the most interesting of all my cane concepts are those made using recovered artifacts as an inset in the grip. Combining a part of history such as a brass button from a Confederate soldier's uniform or a Piece of Eight recovered from a sunken Spanish Galleon is a satisfaction I never tire of. From the battlefields of the Revolutionary and Civil War to the recovered treasures from deep in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean, the ability to offer remarkably unique and original canes is virtually limitless.

Prices: The base price for these sticks are $250 plus the cost of the artifact and any plating or engraving associated with the project. These sticks are made from select Rosewood, specifically Cocobola. Both the shaft and the top are made from the same piece of lumber to ensure the perfect color match on every stick.

Compass Canes

One of my oldest walking stick concepts is the compass stick, originally made as a tribute to an Air Force officer I came to know during my service in Thailand during the Vietnam war. This stick features a small compass in the grip of the stick. This is the same type of compass that has been used in air crew survival kits since World War II.

An excellent gift to commemorate those achievements in a military person's career, the panels on the brass collar can be engraved with up to four lines of information including names, ranks, dates, and locations. Perfect for going away gifts or promotions, I have made a number of these for service academy graduation occasions as well as gifts in which the compass is the theme with the emphasis being a goal or direction in life.

Prices: The prices, built to a custom fit and made from Rosewood are priced at $250.00. Engraving is optional at $10.00 per line.

An upscale Rosewood shaft using for the grip a modern duplicate of an old Bulls-Eye putter. Excellent as an executive gift or good natured retirement gift, this stick offers many of the characteristics of the functional cane. An excellent choice as a unique gift, this stick can be engraved with up to four lines of engraving.

Price: This stick is priced at $150.00 in Rosewood. A 10% discount is offered on the Putter Cane in orders of four or more.
